I have a 1998 mercury force tracker edition 40 hp
I was looking at the parts diagram and i'm pretty sure i'm missing the screen under
the steering anode... does anyone have a picture of what it looks like? Is it ok to run
without it or is that asking for trouble

tohatsu m40c starting flooding at lower rpm. when I removed the cover I could see the carb pulling in way to much from the middle tube have to run full speed or the motor will flood.. what could be my cause?
I was on the tohatsu site seeing what the recomended prop is for my tohatsu m40c and on the side it has a chart that reads:: light load 100-500 medium load 500-1500 and heavy 1500 -3000lb
Im just wondering if the load includes the weight of the hull in other words if my hull weights...

I recently replaced my prop and noticed that when in fwd gear I can spin the prop clockwise easily and it makes a clicking sound when i try to turn it counter clockwise it takes a lot of effort . When in neutral it spins both ways with no sound . when in reverse it spins both...
I received a small boat in a trade with a 40 hp tohatsu 1989 model
the motor idles fine and runs to about half throttle but anything past half throttle doesn't increase speed the boat is going. It almost sounds like is gargling or wanting to cut out past half throttle.
