Well I'm attempting this tomorrow. I'm gonna pull the outdrive then disconnect everything needed and slide the engine forward. Since my boat is 6' tall on the trailer there is no way to use an engine hoist. This is a 4.3LX BTW
If anyone has done it I would like to here some tips.
Today when I went to start the boat out on the water I just got a really bad grinding noise. Had to get towed in. Any way to test the starter or rebuild it? It is a 4.3LX engine.

Well I installed a fuel pressure gauge and it's reading 10lbs at idle which I'm thinking is pretty high. Is there a way to lower the pressure?
I took exhaust risers off and they are clear and the exhaust flappers look new and move freely. But now one of the damn...

The Boat is new to me. It ran pretty good the first time I too it out but wouldn't idle. I gave it to a guy to have some interior made, carb cleaned and a hydrofoil installed. Ever since then is when I have been having the problem.
