    Evinrude top cylinder dead

    I have a 48 hp evinrude with a dead top cylinder. Here is what I've done so far:<br />Plugs are good, plug wires are good, cleaned carbs but did not take apart, both coils are good, emptied and cleaned gas tank and lines. <br />Motor fires right up and the bottom cylinder runs fine.<br />Any...

    48 hp evinrude won't plane out

    I have a 48 hp evinrude. Starts and idles fine, runs great in reverse, but seems to "bog" down in drive and won't plane out. Ran fine last weekend but the problem started suddenly this weekend. Can't get it to build up any rpms in drive and just plain won't go. Any ideas?
