the pump was run on the rebuilders test equipment and it performed as designed. the rebuild was done my injectors rx.
yes i cleaned the fuel tank.
i finally got back to install the new pump and now i am questioning the fuel delivery to the high pressure pump, i'm looking for info on what the...
ok, here goes: sorry abut the long post but: i have an HPDI engine that is kicking my ass and need some outside help with it. its a 2001 200hp hpdi,
z200txrz.
before i got ahold of it, a previous mechanic cleaned the medium pressure pump, sent the injectors out for cleaning and replaced all the...
check your compression gauge, the engine will not run on 80 psi.
i have had couple run ins with bad gauges, pick up one from the local parts store for a loaner and see if your #'s are different from what you got earlier
i have an sx-a drive i removed from a boat do do the bellows, the bellows was filed with gear oil and the drive had nothing measurable on the stick. i drained it and presure tested it at multiple pressures, turning the shaft and no leaks found over the course of a few days. why is this? how did...
im thinking and there is no way the engine would run as smooth as it is if the rotor is a v8 rotor. if at all. but i will check it
also, whats troubling me is that before the tune/carb, it was operating better. the compression doesn't just drop
yes it is advancing past 20, and the rotor better be the right one, it came as a kit, cap& rotor but i will check, that would be a real kick in the ass. something you just take for granted. ill be back to follow up
hey all, so i have this deck boat with a 2004 4.3 w/ 2 barrel mercarb and TB5 that was stalling out and found the carb needed to be rebuilt. i had that done and did a minor tune up, plugs and cap/rotor. when i tuned it i checked the timing and found it to be set @ 0 degrees, i reset it to 10...
isnt this a volvo penta engine?
if the pump is putting out too much pressure, fuel will flow out of the top vent. and flood the the engine. it will not make the engine run at high idle. put a gauge on it.
that being said, if the pump is the original EFI pump, yeah, you need one for a carb.
if...
get a flashlight down in the transom area by the starter/exhaust pipe and see if the cable is all twisted up. if it is straight into the transom, pull the cable as straight as you can, so that means not wrapped around the y pipe and behind the steering actuator, pull it out towards the seating...
