Just went out and started my little outboard for the fist time this year. Same thing happened as the last time that I took it out last year. I fogged the cylinders before start up. Same as I did last winter before I put it up. I used some starting fluid and the second pull it started right up...
Rebuilt the carburater and now the thing won't start at all. The motor started out running only when cold. I know that the gas was at least 2 years old. Drained the trank,replaced the plug,rebuilt the carb, now it won't even try to start.

I am getting ready to start my 1985 Johnson 15 hp for the first time as soon as the last parts get here. As soon as the starter spring gets here I will do a compression test first, Then, I will try to start it up if the compression is good. I am keeping my fingers crossed.
