I have a 1975 ss195 Sickcraft and the floor is solid, except where the battery sits in the engine hatch is starting to get a little soft. Is there a coating that I can apply so the rot doesn't get worse?
A lake in my area the water level tends to be very shallow on the south end of the lake. Unfortuantely the south end is where the boat launch is. I pretty much idle my way to the north end of the lake. I have an inboard/outboard and I have to trim up almost all the way up just to avoid sand...
I was messing with my trim lines, because I am trying to figure out why the outdrive will not trim down. I think I hooked them up right, but I am not sure. Does it even matter? Its a 75 slickcraft ss195 with an 888 outdrive.

I have a 1975 Slickcraft with an 888 Mercruiser outdrive. Outdrive will trim up, but it will not trim down. When i press the button you can hear the motor trimming it up and the ourdrive trims up, but it won't trim down and I can still hear the motor for the trim.
