    Engine grinds when going into reverse? Evinrude 48hp

    I've changed the cables and the crank case oil? It does go into gear, just makes a really bad grinding noise. I when the prop spins backward, it seems really stiff when slowing down. When I stop from going forward, it gradually stops. Is it something in the lower unit? Thanks guys!

    87 Evinrude 48hp Spitting out of top idler adjuster screw

    I have an 87 Evinrude 48 spl. I have put carb kits in and changed the plugs. Also changed the fuel pump/filter. Runs good but it spits out the top idle adjuster screw. Its only the top carb that's doing it, bottom carb isn't spitting. Anyone have any suggestions on what I could do?
