    Year of Johnson outboard ?

    A friend of mine was reciently given a 4 hp Johnson outboard and he was wondering what year it was manufactured. He thought it was a mid 90s but the Model number:4R75A doesn't work with INTRODUCES P.S. serial Number: E4152911 Any help is always welcome.

    I have a 1939 serial No.K2-1393 No model number which I believe is a 3 horse 1939 outboard. What kind of compression should I expect from this motor, and am I correct on th age of this motor? PS, What is the correct points gap? Thanks in advance.

    New stuff

    I just bought a new vcr and it replaced a 10 year old vcr. I reciently spent 150 to fix it and only spent 60 to replace the original. Does anyone fix thier original equipment?

    A funny ? about fuel/oil ratios

    Why is it always said 50:1 when if you do the math it's 48:1 but like for older motors the ratio is 24:1 and it's not rounded up to 25. This isn't a question that keeps me up at night but I was just wondering if someone(anyone) had a reasonable reason or thought on this.

    Electric food peelers, what next?

    I saw an advertisement for an electric food peeler for carrots and potatoes and such and I had to wonder, how hard is it to manualy peel a carrot or potato the old fashioned way? If my grandmother had seen this she would have laughed at it. I guess I'll stick with my grandmother. PDS.
