So as I dig out my stringers I really wanted to go with a composite material and was sold on the Coosa but the price is astronomical for my size boat. I bought 3/4 inch marine plywood for about 110 dollars a sheet, I figure if I did the whole boat in marine grade I'll spend roughly 16-20 sheets...
Here goes boat number 2 or 3 if you would count a Scarab I did with a buddy. I had a previous thread where I attempted this restore on the same exact type of boat in the archives with the pictures somehow removed, wish i could get them back. Here is some background on that build...I had no idea...
Im getting kind of frustrated with this thing so I figured Id post for the gurus. I am very mechanically inclined and electrically savvy so feel free to get technical with your posts. My motor ran great last week, 80 mile round trip trolling, bottom fishing off/on everything. I went to start it...
I noticed a foul smelling oil smeill in the bilge so i pulled the drive. Sure enough there was a ton of oil in there, no wonder the oiler was emptying. Well not I need to reseal this good ol drive (1000 bucks is out of the questions for a new one) this one work fine anyway just needs some TLC...
I have scoured the search feature looking for my problem but I have double and triple checked everything that other people are having issues with. Here is exactly how everything is going down. My bellows were rotted so I deceided to change them and gimble bearing. That all went down without a...
Boat runs great no problems, starts up right away, i notice that at above 3/4 thrott;le it rattles as if a nut is bouncing around inside the valve train. I thought it might be the belt on the front of the eninge but that doesnt make sense. If i reduce the engine to 3/4 throttle the...
I have had this boat for a feww months now and it runs great. (32.5 Ft Donzi with twins) i was out running it for its every other day startup and noticed that when i went to max RPM it is rediculously loud. I usually dont run it at WOT as i run out of lake in about a 2 minutes. Also my Left...
Ok heres the story its gonna be long but bear with it. i dont need as much help on this projet as advice. Ive done 2 boats with stringers but they were smaller onlyt 21 ft. Both instances i pulled the cap. When i bought this boat it appeared solid but after taking it offshore twice i started to...

if someone could take a look at this stringer fitting and tell me if this is what its supposed to look like? there is a gap in the front and i heard that the stringer isnt even supposed to touch the boat, you were supposed to fill it with resin or some sort of adhesive.
ok, need to know how the best way to do something, i was removing some more epoxy from the transom area found out there was more to remove :) and i put a hole the size of a quater in the bottom:( whats the best way to go about filling this hole? i dont see how i am going to get poly to stay in...
ok got the crap off the skin of the transom, ready to fit, I was wondering after i cut the transom and fit it there is a little bit of a gap in certain areams around the endge. About quater inch i would say to no more than half an inch in the biggest area. Is this fine? or do i have to do yet...
Is this possible? i have access to a boat with a 3.0l Merc in it, but its blown, i have a full from engine to prop 5.7L 260 setup. I was thinking of just throwing it in there. What would this cause?
