    I have a 73 glastron /w 455 olds, it has never been in salt water, and the heads have just been redone. I was thinking about instaling a fresh water system on it, my question is, at the age of the engine should i go ahead and do it, or not? When i had the heads off i looked into the water...

    copper spray head gaskets

    HELLO, I have a 1973 glastron with a 455 olds, jet drive. just had the heads redone and was told by a marine mechanic that if i use "fell pro" head gaskets and put 3 light coats of copper spray on each side of them, that they would hold-up in salt water. Does anyone know anything about this...

    convert outboard to inboard/outboard

    I have a 1972 glastron gt 160. the boat is in very good shape, but i am about ready to kick the outboard(see my post in mercury) and you will understand. I was thinking about enclosing the transom and instaling like a jetski engine and pump ,or a universal kit such as the one from LEGEND...

    merc 115 won't take fuel , please look!!!!!!!

    can someone put some light on this. I have a 1972 merc 115 with about 70 hours on it, fresh water only. last year it ran pretty good but, had an idle problem :rolleyes: ...no big deal, so this year it won't start :eek: . so I get the manual ( clymer ) and this is what was done....CARBS...

    72 merc not getting fuel

    72 merc not getting fuel i have a 1972 merc 115 outboard, it only has about 70 hours on it, compresion is 122-132 on all 6 , spark is good, I have fuel to all 3 carbs but it will not start. plugs are new, and if I pull them out and spray some fuel into the cylinders it will run for a second...

    what to use for water stains

    ON my 72 glastron gt 160, I was wondering what would work the best at cleaning waterline stains, without doin any harm to the 31 year old paint... and what about mold and mildew for the vinyl interior, thanks :)

    loading pictures???

    I went to myfishihgpictures.com and loaded my pictures. that part was ok. Now my problem is, when I post a topic, click on image then I get a box with an x where the picture needs to be. I must doin something wrong...what do i do to fix this, please help :confused:

    merc 1150 idle crazy

    my 72 merc 1150 outboard, will start and idle fine out of the water w/ the earmuffs on. put it in gear, no problem. Put the boat in the water and it is a different story. In the water idle is low and will not idle in gear.....Now i know people say "turn up the idle screw" But out of water it...

    72 glastron gt 160 200+hp ??

    I own a 1972 glastron gt 160, with 115 merc outboard. it runs good but, I want more POWER. how far can i go with this hull? I know that some of the newer motors are lighter if that helps. the boat has aprox 75 hours of freshwater use only and is in great shape, MORE POWER PLEASE :D
