Info Help on this outboard please

Eska 5hp, Model 1705D, Serial# 204583. Has fuel tank on top and a connection for an external tank. I believe its air cooled. 1 cyl. I assume its 2cyl. Can anybody tell me more about it and its age?

Help identify this outboard - Eska?

From photos of other units that appear similar, it looks to be an Eska 5hp. Can anybody confirm and tell me anything about it? The cover is missing I gather. There are no brand names and only the simple tag you see on the engine. Hopefully you can see them here regardless if you are a...

    Timing belt change on AQ125

Does the heat exhanger have to come off to change the timing belt? Cam pulley looks mighty close but will it clear?

Inboard exhuast rubber collapse / crush

Volvo Penta AQ125 and 270 outdrive. This must be common with the location of the sheath for the shift cable. The white exhaust pipe has been crushed inward somewhat. See photos. Its not torn through and the boat hits 30-32 on GPS so do I need to worry about it? If it breaks though will it...

seking prob cover for on the trailer

Just seems a good idea. We use orange or red flags when we carry long wood behind a car or trailer. I was thinking a black prop sticking out way behind the boat and somebody is likely to hit it on traffic. Espeically at night. Isn't there a bright orange bag or something to cover the prop...

Videos filmed from in the water

Made a couple videos of my boat cruising around while I was in the water with a beat up digiCam. See others under my user name Petercheeser also. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsN80sIMbkw

    Kneeboarding - can't get on

I can wake board, water and snow ski, skateboard (I'm 44!), but I can't figure out how to get my knees into the knee board. How do I hold the line, get pulled while on my belly, and still get my knees pulled into the strap? Should I go slow for that? The board is real bouyant and even tried...

    Bimini top mounting and storing

Got the Bimini top I ordered but not sure quite where I'll mount it or how we can stow it as the windshield or the shape is in the way. How far ahead of the windshield should the front be-if any? Its a 6 foot unit. The location I expected to put it will not allow it to stow down forward or...

Volvo 270 drain plug is stuck

Want to change the outdrive oil. I've been trying to get the drain plug off and can't. Tried an impact hand hammer thing with screw driver tip, tried a piece of angle iron with an adjustable wrench. I'd rather not use heat as I just painted the drive a few weeks ago! Suggestions welcome!!

Happiness is opening the bilge drain and no water comes out

I've resealed the outdrive and used a new drain plug (with teflon tape even) and finally got success. Went boating last night and when we came out of the launch I opened the drain as usual and nothing came out! Woohoo!

    1983 Bayliner Capri 19ft - new look

Here's the new look of the boat. Much work on it both cosmetically and mechanically over the last couple months. All the old weathered and cracked vinyl stripes were removed and the chaulky gelcoat surface buffed out. The stern drive and ladder platform was also painted as well as the trailer...

Volvo Penta 270 - clunk going into 'gear'

83 Bayliner with Volvo 4cyl and 270 drive. From idle and moving the lever up, there is a quite a bit of movement before it finally clunks into gear. Is there supposed to be such a gap? And such a clunk?

    Volvo 4cyl - overheated apparently

1983 Bayliner 19" Bowrider with Volvo AQ 125 engine and 270 outdrive. Ran fine. During top speed the temp gauge said just off center towards hot. At launch ramp upon leaving I opened the bilge rain but antirfreeze came out! Gallon or more I'd guess. I see small pools of green around both...
