I am trying to set my dwell. Points are at 19. Dwell meter reads 10 on the 8cyl setting so x2 for 20. Should be 30-34. I set points to 22, meter reads 8 (x2=16), so I set points to 17, still at 10 (x2=20). I get the impression my meter is junk............Is this going int he right...
Got a multi meter, tested it on DC one tip to each side of the coil while running, boat started to stall out. Put black on block red to + on coil, boat started to stall. Bad coil or normal?

I have a 1981 omc GM 2.5 in good shape. I want to put it into a stingray with an 85 GM merc 3.0. Is this the same block? I know I need to change over exhaust / intake, muonts etc, but will the block line up with all the right holes in all the right places? Just making sure. Thanks
Looked at an 18 foot bowrider the other day. Not sure if the block was cracked or a freeze plug went. I would think it would gush from a freeze plug, but how fast on a cracked block?
