Quick question I have a 1956 Big twin electric 30Hp and it has been running rough, Spark doesn't seem to be an issue but it is still running rough and having trouble starting. I purchased a sierra Carb kit, ( no float ) to see if I can get this thing running a little smoother. Today...
motor wont go full speed will sometimes kick in after warmed up... worked fine for 1 hour then suddenly went to a lower RMP level for full ride back down the river.
The idle will go to a fasterRMP just not when in gear.
having trouble adjusting the carb needles, once i find the sweet spot on where they should be adjusted, as i rev the motor the needles start turning,
also one of the needles looks like it has been pressed in too far and the end has a blunt edge? could i sharpen it myself and just make...
my 57 big twins carb needles need constant adjusting while boat is in gear, vibrations causing the knobs to turn back down so engine runs slow, drives me nuts is there any way to stop this from happening
i know you guys might cringe when i say this but i have a 10 foot invader and i picked up an old 57 big twin with control box and cables,
the cables are about 7 or 8 feet long and i barely need more then 4 or 5 feet
is it possible to cut the cables and reattach the fittings that attach to...
wants to start up, putts then quits, only sometimes. doesnt seem to want to idle at all, got it to run once but had to keep it reving or else it will just quit, very very inconsistent.

Am i missing some obvious or is my prop siezed on? i take out the pin at the end of the prop? does it screw off or just pull of .. the thing is over 50 years old mayb its just rusted on? any tips or tricks for this classic... sorry for my dumb question but im in a bind
I have a newer mould of a classic gw invader from the 60s era. im a little sketchy on putting a full size 50 hp merc on it instead i swamped out and got ahold of an old 57 evinrude big twin35 hp ..
problem is it isnt set up for the modern cable steering configuration, if a pulley steering...
