    Help!! I installed a new throttle cable yesterday, and can't seem to adjust the cable. It is racing at 4000 rpm in neutral. Boat has.a hot foot. Any ideas please?

    1983 Mercury 150 hp Outboard trim switch

    I have a 1983 Mercury 150 hp Outboard. The trim switch on the cowling was detached when I purchased the boat. I cleaned it up, plugged it into the proper wire on the engine, and the engine tilted up, and wanted to keep going. Do I simply have a bad switch or could it be something more?
