    I mean it may be possible. I did bead blast and strip/paint the whole thing and didn't recall seeing one... but now torqued with the inner transom plate it may not be visible. It's just odd that it was bad enough to be visible last fall and trip the bilge pump at rest... and now there's nothing.

    Not going to lie... that almost sounds like a rev limiter... This is me running bouncing off the limiter last fall. The merc book states its about 100 rpm above WOT which judging by the tach would be correct...

    Define sloppy... fit to the shift shaft or fit to the bellhousing? There is a little play in the lower for the foot to move around and align if memory serves.

    I just wanted to add, our boats are similar in size and having the same 090m block... while I can't verify what exactly is in your mill I can say with a 1.84 merc drive I can sling a 19p up to the rev limiter. The internals should be similar for a marine engine. Obviously not apples to apples...

    Thats like me walking into work after the "A team" worked a weekend. Never ceases to amaze me the different ways someone can find to screw up what is a pretty simple process. So I guess none of this should surprise me.

    I think the thought of over trimming scares people too. I think there is a pretty large sum of boaters out there that just tilt down and drive around all day and thats it. Never even touching it.
