Well finally got the new fuel line on and got a chance to take the boat to the lake and it ran like new. Did great, the old fuel line after 11 years had deteriorated on the inside and was plugging up the fuel line. Thanks for all the feedback lotsa help. Everybody on this forum is always helpful...
took off the old fuel filter and it looked good a few small spec in the bottom but the screen was clear and was not restricting fuel flow. I'll put on the new fuel filter and new fuel hose tomorrow and prob pull the pickup tube and check the strainer.
I couldn't get a very good picture but the goop inside the line is the lining thats in side the fuel line . It looks like it has a inner plastic lining in the fuel line. When I cut the plugged up part off and pushed the fitting back in the line the inner liner just bunched up inside the line and...
Its permanent. Checking the strainer sounds like a good idea if I can get to it. I didn't think of it while I was at the lake but I probably should have hit the enricher while it was bogging and see if it picked up Then I would know its a fuel issue.

My 86 mercury 115 runs great for about 30seconds out of the hole then it boggs down and will only run about 3000 rpm and will surge some. Go back down on the throttle and wait a bit and it will do it again. It seems to me the fuel delivery is not keeping up with the demand and once it sucks the...
I'm going to repost this question as I should have titled my 2 threads differently as it is too confusing. Does anybody know did my 1986 115hp come with a sound blanket inside the cowling? Where I might find one? Or could I make one?
