    Bladder under powerhead, late model mercury OB

    50 HP Merc stopped pumping water after sitting outside in freezing conditions. Local mechanic replaced impeller, said if that did not work, "bladder" under the powerhead may have had water frozen in it, would have to go to Mercury dealer. What is he talking about? I have never heard this word...

    Engine "sag" at part throttle

    Trim Sending Unit

    I pulled trim sending unit off my 1995, 115 HP Mariner, to verify that sending unit was bad. I used a drift pin/hammer to move slotted end of cross pin in slightly (sending unit tab did not want to go back into slot freely).     Trim Sending Unit

    Trim sending unit is bad on my '95 115 HP Mariner. Is there any aftermarket part out there that would keep me from paying estimated $80-$90 for an OEM Mercury/Mariner part. For that kind of money, I'll just look back at the motor when I'm in my Ranger.

    115 Mariner

    Trim gage for my '95 115 Mariner goes to mid position on dial with ignition on and does not move as motor is tilted up or down. When ignition is off, needle moves to full up. Do I need to replace sending unit on motor, or gage? How do I check these two parts?

    On a noisy, crowded ramp at dusty dark, I made a mental error and pulled my boat out of the water with motor idling. The motor ran for about 20-30 sec. max before shut off. What is the possibility of water pump impeller heat damage in this period of time?
