    I'm looking at possibly trading boats from a 1988 Evinrude 150 hp to a 2000 Mercury 200 hp. Does anyone know if the Mercury will be just as loud...outboards being loud in general across the board?

    Teleflex throttle/shift cables

    Just curious what the point of having a sliding shaft on the throttle/shift cables is. I just finished rebuilding my carbs and was going through the link/sync and couldn't figure out if i needed to pull the shaft all the way out of the tube or push it back in or just leave it alone before...

    Link and Sync 88 150hp 'rude

    I have a clymer manual and read through the V6 instructions, but it never mentions starting points for the throttle stop screws or cable trunnions. Is there a starting point? Also, do the throttle and gear cables need to be disconnected before starting the link and sync?

    I'm in the middle of redoing the 3 two-barrel carbs for my 88 'rude 150hp. There are two metal contact lens looking things that came with the kit, are these supposed to replace the two round things in the plugs.jpg (the one with question marks...pics aren't to scale)? The ones on the carb...

    Gear Oil

    Before I chage the gear oil, I'm just looking for a safety net answer. I have an 88 Evinrude XP150. The shop I bought the oil from said that Mercury high performance gear oil would be a good replacement for the recommended OMC Hi Vis. I'm only 1 month into boating, and I don't wanna screw up...
