    What ever happened to these engines? Probably too many problems...neighbor had one and its smoked like a SF fog on startup....

    merc vs. yamaha and the four stroke

    OK so it sounds like Merc is making its own 4 stroke powerheads now? Is this confirmed? Also, what is the latest on best motor for lake and saltwater. Merc Saltwater or Yamaha? How bout for fresh water? Is it all about personal preference or is there truly a better engine for reliability?
