    I have an Australian Merc 850 about 1977 model. I've been running it 50:1 but have seens in a few other posts talk about the older engines going 40:1, would this be worth while. Also what would be my max WOT rev range? Thanks..

    Prop info

    My ~1977 Merc 850 has a prop "48 65588 A1 19P", I assume 19P is the diameter, but not 100% sure. I want to drop the revs by about 400rpm at wot to get back to the correct wot rev range, but not sure what to do as I dont know my starting point. Thanks in advance.

    I've tried a few sites in Australia, but can't fins any info on my hull. It's a Easyrider 156, I beleive made by Cruisecraft in about ~1977. I cannot find any info at all on it from the net or any other resource. Any ideas?

    Easyout/srew extractor

    I've stripped a bolt in my outboard, so I've got a set of srew extractors. How are you supposed to use them? <br /> <br />I drilled the hold into it as per size on the extractor. Now what do I do? Do I first hammer it into it and then unwind it?

    Evinrude Head Gasket - Goo ?

    I've ripped down my 1977 55hp Evinrude, and yep the head gasket was blown. Thanks for the help there. OK, my book says to use some "OMC Gasket Sealing Compound" coated over the head gasket. Is this still standard practice? Or are the newer gaskets ok with out it?

    Spark plugs

    What is the main reason for going to the surface gap spark plug against the standard type of plug. I noticed my book had surface gap plugs, but since I've had my boat (nealry 6 years) it had normal type plugs in it.
