Symptoms:
new engine block with 30 hours
- boat running fine
- anchored for an hour
- ran in gear at tickover for 45 min on river
- revs faltered, gave a touch more throttle
- revs climbed a little, struggled and died
- no re-start
Following day
- engine started fine

I am just pulling apart and re-assembling the valve lifters in my AQ205. The manual calls for SAE20 to be used on reassembly. Marine engineer I speak to is not sure it is completely necessary and thinks the standard engine oil could be used. Engine oil I have is 15W50 synthetic.
