Probably remove tow bar above the engine, run chain or strap through the hole, lift engine up, then get it on dolly or plywood or something with less friction like thick nylon sheet that would allow it to be dragged forward for extraction.
I have a sundeck 240. Did you remove the bulkhead? Then look underneath with mirrors. Or unbolt the sea water pump from the block and let it drop down. That should let you have a decent look at the hose.
I believe those had Bravos so it could be the inlet hose from the transom to the sea water pump. Also I believe that hose has a quick disconnect in the middle of it. That hose is often red and buried pretty deep down low and hard to see.
Yeah that was my challenge. I calculated how much mix went into the cool fuel module (less than a quart if I recall correctly) vs the gph at idle and tried to nail a tight running window between when it started drinking the mix and when it had drank all of it and got back to straight gas but had...
My old mechanic used to fill the cool fuel module with the mix when he changed filters and then run it briefly to get to injectors. That combined with some stabilizer in the tank. I followed this when I did myself one year with no adverse effects. And downside to this method?
Fram has many product lines of oil filters… I’d be comfortable with any of them except the entry level and I think the racing filter. I used the racing filter for years on my expensive race car engines but I think it sacrifices some filtration for increased flow.
I’ve read plenty of BITOG. My take is that regular Fram was junk but that the premium Frams were okay. I used Fram Racing Filters on my race car with no issues.
Thanks. WIX always had a great rep in the auto world so I went with the 57099XP (their premium version). Went to order on Amazon for $10 when I noticed they had an open box return for $2. Grabbed it.
Literally, including shipping, $15 was the cheapest I could find a Quick Silver filter for and...
That time of year again. My 5.0MPI takes 35-866340 oil filter. Last year I bought QuickSilver on Amazon for $10. This year it’s $20. And a lot of online sellers ((West Marine, Walmart, some Marine parts houses) are completely out of stock.
Any reason I can’t use a decent filter from this list ...
