    nissan have alternator??

    I have a 2005 Nissan 4-stroke, pull-start, 9.8. On the electric start version of this same motor, there is an alternator that is used to charge the starting battery. Does that same alternator exist in the pull-start model? If so, is there any way I could use that to charge my trolling motor...

    run dry or not??

    I've been running my carbs dry before putting my outboards away or before long periods (1 month) of nonuse. Today, an outboard tech told me not to, or the seals will dry out. Said just use stabil and leave them full over the winter. Who's right???

    muriatic acid for cleaning toons

    just tried a mix of four to one water and muriatic acid. Spray it on, scrub, hose off. Stuff is on for less than a minute but instant clean. All brown waterline and algie crud gone. Do a small section,rinse, move on. I kkow theres been neg talk about this but its on for such a short time and...

    Just pulled the boat out of the slip (been in for 6 mos) and found water in the lower unit during service. No Suzuki service centers within 800 miles and I am not much of a mech. Whats involved in the service and can a certified dealer for another brand do it as well ??

    tachometer reading off??

    installed new guages in my pontoon with a 55 hp Suzuki 2st (1997) All working fine and motor runs great but the tach only reads about 1500 at wide open. About what should it read, Could I have set the tach switch to the wrong position? I set it at 6.
