In my 1989 4.3liter omc (seaswirl), I am converting points to electric ignition. I hooked it up correctly but for some reason I am only pulling 4-6 volts from the coil.... unfortunately not enough to spark! I was curious if I could run another wire to a 12 v switch such as the starter coil or...
just built a 4.3 in a 1988 Seaswirl and am unable to go past 25 mph. When I try, the carb sputters and pops. I am running points for now and plan on converting. It has an electric fuel pump (not inline). I don't know what is going on..... compression reads between 160-180 on all cylinders...
