How difficult is it to replace the outer seal around the ball gear drive shaft on a OMC 800 out drive? Boat is a 1985 Cobalt 5.7 litre. I have a drip leak coming into the bilge from that area. Rich
I have just pulled the carpet from my boat. Beneth the carpet it left pieces of rubber and adhesive. I tried paint thinner on the entire fiberglass coverd floor to no avail. Is there a solvent for this purpose. Thanks! Rich

My fuel guage reads correctly when the tank is above 3/4 but below 3/4 it become eratic and bounces from 3/4 to empty. Is this most likely the sending unit? The boat is 20 years old. Thanks! Rich
