I have a 69 55 hp rude that will not crank unless you remove a spark plug and spray starting fulid then it will
crank everytime for the next several hours. If it sits over night it will do the same thing again. I have replaced fuel filter fuel pump and rebuit carbs. please help

My brother in law has I think a 1996 merc 135hp<br />v6 with tilt & trim and it will go up and down but will not stay in the up position. He has replaced the check valve and orings but it is still doing the same thing. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I did a spark test today on my motor and wire 1 & 2 had good spark but wire 3 had almost none where do I start to correct this. Also switched out the wires so I could rule out bad wire.
On my 1955 rude 55hp the rotor button has a small chip about the size of a dime on the inside rim and the distributor cap fits over this does anyone know if this would effect the running of the motor. Thanks in advance for any help.
