I have 2 1990 mercury 115hp lower units.
One is a long shaft 25" in non-working condition...the shaft seems to be frozen.
The other is a regular 20" shaft in working condition.
Am I able to remove the 25" shaft from the non-working unit and place it in the 20" working lower unit?
Any advice...

While on the lake I was having some shifting problems and would hear a slight tick/knock when I let off throttle.
On way back to dock it felt like a plug fouled and the power died a little...

I am considering buying a 1992 Mercury 115hp 20" outboard with an extension kit making it 25" as a replacement.
A few questions:
1.) I am assuming because the 92 has an extension "kit", I can take it out?.....if not can I...

Obviously 1 and 4 are looking off, one is real scary.
