    Fuel connection leak

    I have a 6 hp Johnson. The fuel line leaks where it connects to the tank and to the engine. Are there o-rings or something in there to replace or do you have to buy new connectors?

    Compression

    What would be the lowest compression that a 15hp johnson would run? Seems like it runs on both cylinders til about half max rpm, then one cylinder seems to stop firing.

    Fiberglass boats

    Do all fiberglass boats leak? I have never owned a fiberglass boat. A friend of mine who owns several says they all leak. Says fiberglass with gel coat is not water tight. I don't understand this, we have fiberglass tanks that hold dangerous chemicals all over the place. Non of them leak.

    Gearcase oils

    What gearcase oil is purple in color? I drained the oil out of a 15 hp Johnson and it is a pretty purple color, almost peralescent(sp).

    14' aluminum Starcraft "V" bottom

    The identification plate is worn and barely legible. The best I can make of it, the max hp may be 30 horse. Does this sound right to you guys? I have a 16' that came fron sears in the early seventies that says 60 hp. Just wondering. Paul
