It is going to get interesting when you try to disconnect the gear shift rod. Mine is a 1988 and the gear shift disconnected when I accidently bumped the lower end and it turned counterclockwise about a quarter turn or less. The repair manual didn't give me any info on this.
I get a good flow of cooling water in the indicator stream plus with the exhaust. But who knows what flow is good enough. I did get a new water pump impeller installed a few years back and of course the motor runs so few hours per year that I find it hard to believe that this is worn.
1983 model. After a three minute warm up at idle this motor runs great for about 5 or 10 minutes and then stops or at least bogs down and won't run at idle. Once it cools it runs fine again. Starts easily. Does this indicate that more oil is needed and if so how does one adjust the injectors...
