I need help finding a part for the control box on my boat it is the throttle only push button it is the mid 80s square type

I just replaced the power pack cdi blue type and after starting it up
it runs at a very high idle over 2000 rpm and it is back fireing and puffing smoke from the back of number 3 carb sometimes the motor will stall.

The old starter would not stay engaged to start the motor
so i bought a new starter and it works the same way!!
Any one know how to fix this?? At the boat ramp i see other Johnson and Evinrudes do the same thing and makes it hard to get the motor started..

Got a new rectifier/regulator today while removeing the old one
i see that it has a red a pair of yellows a gray and a purple
well the new one has a red a pair of yellows and a gray no purple

have the orange wires but both stators have the same mod. number
where i bought it from said that i dont need...
