I was wondering what the difference was between a 150 and a 185 hp johnny of similar years(84,85). I know the carbs, but is that just jets? I need to borrow some parts off of the 185 to finish the 150....
DOes anyone know the oe part number for the crankcase to intake seal? The dealer looked it up and it come up with a standard gasket. Mine is a spaghetti type sealer.
While I'm waiting for my gaskets to come in for the 150 j, was wondering if anyone had good idea for cleaning out speedo pick in the l/u. BTW, I tried air, carb cleaner and wire so far.

On the above motor, I noticed that the shift rod adjustment was extremely touchy. Is this normal, or are my clutch dogs about wore out? I seem to barely be able to lock in forward and reverse, alternatly.
Stupid question.........How do you remove the handle from the control box to replace the broken lockout handle. I just bought a 21 ft cuddy with the above motor on it.

Thanks,
Rick
I have a 50 hp merc ser no 5267736, should be a 77 I believe. I need to find the plastic inlets that the fuel line hooks to on the carbs, I broke mine off by accident.

I was tryin to replace impeller on 125 johnson (1972). I pulled th 2 bolts on each side and the one in front of the trim tab. However, the lower unit isnt hardly budging. Is there another under the trim tab, or am I missing something? That trim tab bolt refuses to budge so far BTW. Sorry tokeep...
I took the boat out today after hopefully fixing the problem w/ ignition. I have a couple of questions. My lower unit appears to be leaking water around the seam where it bolts up while on the muffs. I am going to put an impeller in it, and was wondering if this issue needs to be addressed...
