    85 mercury 25xd shift issue

    with engine running it makes a fast paced ticking noise when trying to shift into reverse like its close to engaging but won't.pulled lower unit when shift rod is pulled it goes into reverse but pops out with one full revolution of the prop by hand .i did notice i was missing the shift rod...

    motor bogs down at wot

    i have a 1986 mercury 25 xd pull start tiller steer it starts easily most of the time but it bogs down at wot the warmer the engine gets the less the throttle will go with out bogging down .i replaced reed valves recently and that didnt do anything have carb rebuild kit coming tomorow .does...
