    loosing power

    i have a 84 evinrude 40 hp on a 14 ft fiberglass tri hull boat stick steering ,the problem im having is it gets up on plain great but seems to lose power after plaining out , it doesnt run like some of the other 40s on the river its alot slower.any help would be great thanks
