    Can I extend throttle and shift cables?

    I have a throttle/shift box that came off a Boston Whaler and is connected to a '67 Johnson 33hp outboard. My question is, can I extend the cables for both the shifter and throttle? And is there a really cheap way to do so? Thanks! Matt
