I have seen some reference to the " water tubeless" design on the lower unit. I'm not clear on how that works compared to the water pump tube I see on my 58 FD-12. Any clues.

I dug through my parts stash low and behold and found the Lock Brackets
First time through the mill hooking one of these up. Bought a lot of the parts piece meal and these were a couple of puzzle pieces that never had a home.
Moral of the story is throw NOTHING...
Trying to get the Shipmaster Controls hooked up to my 58 Johnson FDE 18 Hp.
Have it figured out except where Throttle Cable locks onto the port side of the steering bracket and the Shift cable locks on mount of side of starboard shroud.

I am having trouble with wiring a 5 lugged keyed starter switch to my 1958 Johnson 18hp.
Currently setup is:
Two black kill wires to MAG and GRD
White wire from starter to SOL
Power lead to BAT
Choke wire to ACC
The trouble I am having is the Starter kicks in when the switch is in the RUN...
