    after having a ujoint seal replaced and new bellows, did a test run on the boat, now a loud whining , high pitch squell, coming out of outdrive when i put it in gear, the noise goes away in neutral, all so ihad the gimbal bearing and u joint assembly replaced, now the new u joints are knocking...

    Cranking problems, 1998 volvo penta 5.0 gl

    engine crank's real hard like the timing is off, i've had the timing checked twice, pulled the plug's to check for water in cylinder's, they are fine, and i have a new battery. any idea,s what to check next? it doesn,t crank hard every time that i start it. thank's

    noise started out a light knocking, cahtter noise at top of outdrive, mechanic said to change the prop, didn't help, noise got louder, took it back to him, he found a ujoint seal bad and gear oil in the bellow's, the ujoints were dry, so he put fittings in them and greased it and said they were...

    Noise in volvo penta outdrive?

    i have a 1998 volvo penta sx cobra outdrive. is there supposed to be any moving parts in the outdrive while the outdrive is not in gear? the noise seems to get quieter when i put the boat in gear.

    5.0GL 10 Amp fuse on trim/tilt motor keeps blowing

    the fuse works fine while running boat in my yard, seems to blow once i have the boat in the water and shift it into gear and apply more power. i recently had new shifting and throttle cables installed. i replaced the relays on the trim motor and it didnt help.
