    BF25D won't get above 1600 RPM

Thanks for the reply! If I get one more warm day this Fall I'll try this. Otherwise it'll wait until Spring!

    BF25D won't get above 1600 RPM

UPDATE: I replaced the fuel filter. No change. I have the boat out of the water at the moment. In neutral I can now rev up to about 2200, but that's it.

    BF25D won't get above 1600 RPM

I just bought a small pontoon boat with a Honda BF25D on it. At full throttle the tachometer reads 1600 RPM. I thought that perhaps the motor was undersized for the boat, but knowing the original owner bought it for a small lake it did not surprise me. I found (online at Honda's site) the...

    Finding a voltage drop?

So...I figured I should report back on my progress. My boat guy said it was new starter time. He had apparently applied power straight to it and it behaved the same way. I bought a new one, which was mercifully physically smaller than the original, and installed it. Same thing. Barely a...

    Finding a voltage drop?

I've searched this forum and read a few threads. There is a lot of general advice on tracing voltage drops! So that's not what I'm here for. I'm here in case, after I describe what's happening, someone knows and can tell me, "Oh yeah...that's really common on that boat/motor, here's what you...

    In-Dash Radio Bezel/Mount

The original radio in our 90's-era Four Winns finally died. It was the "old-style" radio with volume and tuning knobs, the posts of which provided the basic front-end support, with a strap holding things up in the rear. I have acquired a (relatively) "modern" unit--a Clarion M5470 (it was...

    Replacement depth finder transducer?

Hi, I recently broke the transducer for the depth finder on our boat. The brand on the gauge is "Impulse". The transducer was mounted on the stern. Service records for the boat show it was installed in 1990. Where can I get a replacement? Can I use a new transducer with an old gauge...

Stopping a boat from going too far into a lift/hoist

Last Fall we got a "new" (to us) boat. It's the first boat we've had that has a depth gauge and a speedometer on it. As far as I have been able to learn, they work by way of a transducer (depth) and a pitot (speedometer) that are mounted on the stern of the boat. Early this Summer, I lowered...
