1987 force 50 hp.<br />do they make a conversion kit to change points over to a breakerless ignition.I have changed several on small gasoline engines.since 87 was the last year of points will the electronic ignition from a 88 year model work on a 87??<br />Thanks<br />Ron
what year did they quit using points? I have a 1987 model 507F7A --50 HP. I have'nt had the flywheel off but have been told by some it had points and by some that it did not have any points. I always thought that if it had points it had to have a distributor which mine has a coil for each...
the exhaust port flange which bolts on to the lower unit has a peice broken out about 2" long right in the middle of the flange with a bolt holding the two ends.will this affect the motor in any way? Will this peice be hard to find if I need to replace it?<br />Thanks<br />Ron
