I bought a used lower end for my 78 70 HP Evinrude and had to alter the shifter and when I went to see how it would work Reverse is Forward and Forward Reverse. Is there one year where the gears are reversed or something? Is there anything I can do?
I can't seem to get the drive shaft out of the lower end. The Pinion gear is loose and the nut was able to thread off the bottom of the shaft but the shaft won't pull out? Any tricks to get it out and what could be holding it?
