I have a 72 80hp that was put on a 1989 boat. The idle lever doesn't move the throttle until it is past vertical. When I push the lever all the way back to low idle the distributer and linkage do not return to the idle screw. The cable is screwed all the way into the cable holder on the engine...
I test drove a mid 70's bass boat today and everything checked out fine except it has a built in fiberglass fuel tank. Have any of you had trouble with older fiberglass tanks and the new gas? How hard would it be to gut out the old tank and add a metal or plastic ones?
