Fuel floating on water arond running engine.

A friend has a 90 hp 2003 Mercury 2 stroke and it idles a little rough and leaves excessive fuel floating on the water. The fuel is coming out of the exhaust. Anyone have any idea what is wrong? I am a fairly decent shade tree mechanic on my Yamaha 40 but have no knowledge of a Merc.

    2000 yamaha 115 hp

I am looking at buying this boat with a Yamaha 115 2 stroke. I am puzzeled by the ad which says this: "2003 G3 Pro 185 boat. 18.5 feet. Has 2000 Yamaha 115 motor. This motor is not the problematic oil injected motor that most 2003 G3's have. Stainless stell prop. Minn Kota trolling motor...

    Electrothermal enrichment valve

Motor is a Yamaha P40 1998 2 stroke. My question is, does this enrichment valve have any influence on the performance of the engine after the engine is warmed and the valve shuts off? Example, if the valve diaphram has a small tear in it, will it effect the idle or WOT after warm up? Thanks...

    Fuel enrichment

Engine is a P40TLHW . When I start my Yammy on a old morning, it starts perfect except it seems to be idleing way to fast untill it warms and drops RPM. It worries me how fast it is running on warm up, it sounds like it is going to fly apart. Is there anyway to adjust the fast idle? Thanks

    In the nick of time

A few days ago I posted a message asking questions about wiring up a buzzer/horn for my 40 yamerhammer tillar. This after I realized it had no kind of warning device. Well, I wired in a horn after getting help on this forum and today I went fishing and ran about 2 miles, stopped and fished for a...

    No warning buzzer

I own a Yamaha pro 40 with factory tillar, trim and tilt. I say factory tillar cuz my model number indicates it is factory ,P40tlhw. Evidently it has never had a warning buzzer or lamps. Even if it did have warning lamps, you couldn't see them, but you would think that it would have a buzzer. If...

    Waterpump on P40

Hello, I have a 1998 P 40 yamaha 2 stroke. I have owned it for the past 7 years. It has the original waterpump. Would it be a good idea to put in a rebuild kit just for preventative reasons and how often should this be done? I fish an average of 3 days a week year round so I use it a lot. BTW...
