Replaced the impeller 4 months ago, new plugs and she runs great. Today, she overheated to the point the motor stopped and was smoking. I was stranded in the middle of the lake...
The lower unit is off a 72 motor.
What should I look at?
OK, so this motor hasn't been ran for over 15 years. New points, plugs and impeller. But it doesn't spew water out the back, more like a mist at idle. Is this ok, $50 for the motor not bad I ran it for 30 minutes at an idle and it didn't blow up.
