    Cleaned carbs.New problem

    1.Starts and idles fine.Will run to about 1/4 throttle if edged slowly,and die immediately if accelerated hard.Pulled choke lever when accelerating and runs fine ?     Broke motor clamp.Any ideas ?

    Throttle cable/linkage question

    Is there a special clip that holds the section of the throttle cable that pushes over onto the little knob on the throttle arm on the motor? I can't see what would keep it on as there is no groove or anything for a circlip or such and the knob does not extend above the cables' fitting anyway...

    Motor height ?

    I have a Johnson 1972 40hp fitted on a 14 foot double hull RIB.Have read in other posts that the cavitation plate should sit level or just above the bottom of the hull.In my case does this mean I should take a line across the bottom of the 2 hulls as the reference ?

    Replace needle & seat ?

    If I pump the primer and petrol flows out the air intake of the carb,is that a sign the needle & seat needs replacing ?Are there any other signs it needs replacing when under normal running (would it cause misfires etc ?)
