The ultimitate "garbage"! Last year I used Dolphinte anti foulant spray on my outboard. It has left a caked yellow residue. YIKES!!! I can't get it off!! Any suggestions?
Thanks for your reply.
Full charged battery- engine cranks with ease.
I just have the the 2 main cables( + and -) attached to the battery.
But seems as if trim tilt is struggling a bit to raise and lower.
Could it be the harness on the throttle box. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
<br...
While placing the cowl on my engine, I noticed an open ended rubber tube (approx18-24) was dangling from a black tee that is the tell tale. The tee also has another rubber tube that leads to the engine and is completely intact. I cant seem to locate where on the engine this open ended tube...
After winterizing engine, I went to place the cowl back on the engine but noticed that a rubber water tube that was connected to the tell tale T tube was open ended and just hanging from the T. Can't locate where on the engine this rubber tube fits into. There are 2 rubber tubes that seem to...
During the early part of this season my fuel gauge was jumping
from E to Full. The culprit was a cracked ground tab located on
the top of the sending unit.(sending unit is 2 wired- ground and sender) I took the ground wire and clamped it to one of the metal gas inline tubes on the...
While fishing this past weekend, this engine
suddenly wouldn't start (repowered with only 30 hrs on it). I was in the middle of
an inlet drifting for fluke. Thankfully the owner of a boat 50 yards away from me was a mechanic. He lifted the engine cover and located a plug on the bottom...
I bought lower gear unit oil from an auto parts store with the same viscosity numbers as the lube you'd find at a marine supply store. The salesman at the store said it would be fine for my engine (1985 140hp Rude VRO)
I bought it because I was already in an auto store, didn't have any...
I have a 1985 140 that has a brand new powerhead,
and waterpump, The gearcase was pressure tested
last year when the engine was rebuilt. I notice that the the gearcase oil is milky. I thought that if they pressure tested the unit, it would show where the leaks are.
Is it a big...
Last season I had a new powerhead installed on my 1985
140 VRO. The engine has probably 20 hrs on it at best. She basically runs great except for this one quirk- if I don't use the boat for a couple of weeks (2 to be exact) - she will start
right up, I let her run for 2 minutes or so...
They don't distribute this product anymore, but I like the results it gives and the way it preserves teak. Trouble is that I have some that is beginning to thicken and lump up.Does anyone know how to thin it down so it is useable? Thanks for your reply
Just verifying that Penetrol comes off with Soft Scrub.Contacted the Flood Company and they recommended
paint remover for fiberglass. I don't want to deal with smelly toxic stuff. Anyone one out there
experienced with Penetrol? Happy boating season!
