I would remove the distributor cap, have someone crank the engine over while you are looking at it for a second or two and verify the rotor spins. If so, replace the cap and rotor even though it’s fairly new. I had a fairly new cap and rotor fail this past week underway. I keep multiple spare...
Just to be certain, when you sprayed starting fluid you just sprayed it into the air cleaner? I would remove the air cleaner and open the throttle body and spray it directly into the intake and try it again just to be sure it isn’t a fuel issue.
I agree it is unique in smell, and that’s why I’m concerned that this substance doesn’t smell or feel like gear lube. I wasn’t loosing gear lube last year. Would the grease coming out of the gimbal bearing amount to as much as is in the pictures?
Yes using the blue high performance gear lube. Like I said, the substance doesn’t smell like gear lube to me.
I agree it looks like rust in the picture, but here is a photo after I wiped the gimbal bearing, no rust on it or the drive shaft. I pull the drive every Spring for maintenance and...
Gents,
Pulled my Bravo 3 off last week and found some fluid in the gimbal housing bellows. My first thought was that it was gear lube from the drive. This fluids consistency and smell does not seem like the Mercruiser gear lube that’s in the drive, and I never had to add any lube to the...

Checked voltage at ignition coil and coil driver while cranking had at 13 volts when on, 10 volts while cranking. Checked CPS and CPS harness and had voltage exactly like other engine, ground tested good.
Did not use a spark gap tester
The old motor was running before components...
Gents, just installed a rebuilt 6.2, will not start. No spark off coil, changed Crankshaft position sensor with a known good one from other engine, but still no luck.changed relays and other engine runs.. Doesn’t seem like fuel pressure either. Any ideas on why a good crankshaft position sensor...
Gents,
Helping a friend put a 6.2 back in his boat and came across this part, I suspect it has something to do with one of the rear ground connections but not sure. Any help would be appreciated... Thank Bill
