89 40 hp 4 cylinder will stay running at the dock at in nutral no problem take it out it runs ok for about 10 min then bogs down and stalls with a rapping noise then will not start back up even with starting fluid ive replaced the stator/fuel pump/spark plugs/coil packs/gear oil/and have tuned...
twin 225 e tec both at 100 hours the plugs fouled to the point of stall and not starting back up dealer serviced then at 80 hours it happened again had serviced then it happened at 60 hours what the hell is going on theyr brand new engines!!!
i have a near mint 89 40hp "classic" it has everything even a stainless prop but it dosent have power trim i know they have a unit for it ive seen one on a 45hp same model ....it looks like all i need is the trim motor as the hydrolic piston is allready there a merc rep priced one out for 700$ ?
