Hes currently running 24p props but has tried 22 and26 with not alot of difference. It’s supposedly a 2:1 ratio.
Im wondering if the engine is actually the lower hp engine as theres no tally plates on the engine. If this was the case do you think it would still make the revs but not the power

Afternoon working on a boat with a volvo pents dp280 drive noticed that the most aft prop is bent. Ive Dti the shaft and the run out is about 0.18mm. Would anyone be able to advise what the maximum run out is and is 0.18mm with in tolerance Many thanks
Ahh ok was an idea I had to try and preserve the life of them.
I do flush them out with fresh water on the mooring by shutting off the water intake and plugging a hose pipe into the suction side of the raw water pump via a fitting. hopefully this will preserve the life of them.

Hi im thinking of converting my exhaust manifolds to fresh water cooling as I have a closed loop system on this engine already. Has anyone done this and if so is there much work involved if so where do the pipes run too and from from the manifold

Hi im looking at modernising my dashboard on my boat and using guages that match. Does anyone know if its possible to swap out the volvo penta square trim guage to a more common round trim guage. If so is there much wiring that needs to be altered to make this work.

Its an edelbrock 1409 il check the choke make sure its moving freely.
I did think it might be possibly be the carb getting heat soaked as it only had a paper gasket with no spacer and the fuel pipe is clipped to one of the heat exchanger pipes ( this engine has been modded indirect cooling)...
My aq271c starts up perfectly from cold, a couple of pumps of the throttle and shes running.
If i go for a run out anchor up and go to re start 30 mins later it takes quite alot of crancking to get it fired up again. Once its fired and you turn it off and start it again it will fire right up...
