Engine is difficult to start and once running wont rev over 2000rpm underload.
I have checked and changed the spark plugs. Compression tested the engine, each cylinder within 5psi of 110psi, is this okay?? I have cleaned the carbs twice.

Just got a cheap second hand Mariner 2stroke Outboard. Mercury made not YAM
It was sold to me as a year 2000 6hp, However the cowling looks to me as though its been replaced. I have a suspicion its not the original and outboard could be larger!!! Its heavy for a 6hp aswell.
