Well, I found out for sure yesterday that my 86 Merc 60hp is toast.
After the foot fiasco, I decided to have the powerhead checked
before I went into replacing the mid section and rebuilding the foot.
Turns out I got low compression on the top cyl. (it figures)
Mechanic wants $900 to rebuild...

Well this happened several years, if not a decade ago.
But I felt it was well worth telling here.
My brother in law ran a landscaping co.
and one of his contracts was mowing the boat ramp
access areas at one of the local lakes.
We had decided before hand that I would go with him
on this day...
Does anyone have an exploded view or diagram for the lower unit for this motor?
Finally got it running decent and the lower unit just crapped out today
If anybody has a diagram or a link to one, I'll dance at your wedding!
