    Tachometer interchange

    I have 3 spare tachs, from a v-4 omc 2 stroke, v-6 Merc 2 stroke, and a 4-stroke 4 cyl I/o Chev. Will any of these work on a 2 cyl omc ob{48 SPL]? My local Tech. says no,but the West Marine catalog shows same part no. for ob and i/o 2 and 4 strokes in general. From the way I thought tachs work...
